Investing in the greater good.

A culture of service and giving.

“Invested in Your Future” is more than a catchphrase. It’s a philosophy that encompasses our value system. It extends beyond our relationships with clients and colleagues. It includes the communities in which we work and live. It is Brockenbrough.

Our culture recognizes the collective duty we have to give back. We encourage our team to answer the call to service in their own ways. Whether that means volunteering time, expertise, or financial resources, our team engages in, and contributes to, a wide spectrum of community-focused activities. For some, it’s mentoring. For others, it’s serving on the board of a nonprofit or fundraising events for local causes. Brockenbrough is always pursuing new ways to leverage our expertise, resources, and network for the greater good.

The Brockenbrough Foundation.

Established in 2021, The Brockenbrough Foundation is an employee-run and funded charitable organization formed to activate our shared belief in supporting our local communities. The Foundation is led by a committee responsible for overseeing the firm’s service projects, managing its non-endowed charitable fund, and making annual monetary donations. The Brockenbrough Foundation is the primary vehicle by which we enact major, firm-wide charitable outreach.

Unique operational structure.

As opposed to seeking outside Board members, the Foundation is governed by a rotating committee of five employees with diverse experience and tenure at the Firm. Every year, the committee selects new members to replace those whose terms are expiring. This unique structure provides our employees with real board experience such as reviewing investment strategy and spending policies, enhancing our team members' abilities to further serve as stewards for the organizations in our communities.

Everyone can make a difference.

It is the Firm’s intention for all Brockenbrough employees to serve on the Foundation Committee over time. In addition to prividing invaluable experience, the Foundation’s unique structure allows a varied set of individuals to collaborate on the Foundation's direction, identify new organizations and causes to support, and allocate new monetary awards. Last year, the Foundation elected to focus on the issue of affordable housing in greater Richmond.
